Stephanie Mortimore is a visual artist whose practice is driven by her engagement with photographic ephemera and a fascination with the medium’s apparitional and spectral ontological qualities. Engaging with photographs of unknown sitters, lost through time, connection and memory, she subverts the traditional portrait image, transforming the formal into the fantastical. Through her practice, she aims to render the invisible visible, evoking and awakening the otherworldly qualities of her source material.

Stephanie graduated from Hereford College of Arts with a First Class Honours Degree in BA (Hons) Photography in 2016 and is currently studying for her MA in Fine Art.
